Say hello to our Salon Director Michelle who qualified in 2001 aged 18 and bought her first salon six years later.  She remains just as passionate and is focusing on building Studio 74 into a salon that customers love to visit and where our team love to work.

What do you love about the hair industry?  I love the energy of the salon – it’s like one big family with our team and clients. Seeing people leave feeling amazing never gets old. I also love being surrounded by such talented people and pushing each other to keep getting better. It’s a really rewarding space to be in.

What is your ultimate ambition?  To keep building a salon that people genuinely love coming to, whether they are working here or getting their hair done. I want to create opportunities for my team to grow and keep evolving the business without ever losing that personal touch.

How would you describe yourself in 3 words? Three words to describe me: Perfectionist, loyal, determined.

Tell us something about you that might surprise others. Outside the salon, I also run a property business –  I secretly love all things business and would happily pick a podcast or business book over TV any day. Juggling both worlds definitely keeps life interesting!

With over 20 years in the hair industry, James has worked everywhere from Peterborough to Sydney, managing salons, training teams, and styling for Miss World and Miss Universe Australia.

As a Wella Master and Master Retail Academy graduate, he blends world-class technical skill with exceptional client care. James is passionate about creating styles clients love and inspiring our team to be the very best.

Let us introduce you to Svetlana, a Creative Designer at Studio 74.  Svetlana trained at Peterborough Regional College and fully qualified to Level 3 in hairdressing in 2017. 

What do you love about being a hairdresser? I love the most being creative and make people happy

Who or what inspires you to create fabulous hair? I am keeping up to date all new hairdressing colouring trends by following other hair stylists on TikTok and Instagram.

What is your ultimate ambition? My ambition to make this world more beautiful, and it is starting from creating hair, making people happy.

How would you describe yourself?  I am friendly, kind, bubbly, easy going person and perfectionist 

Tell us something about you that might surprise others.  In the salon they called me Vincent Van Gogh as I am very messy when I do colour correction or creative colours... like a real artist!

Let us introduce you to our Senior Designer Sarah who has a wealth of experience in cutting and colouring hair.  

Say hello to our Trainee Assistant Manager, Ellis-May, who qualified as a stylist in July 2024 and is about to complete her Level 3 advanced stylist qualification.  

What do you love about being a hairdresser? I love being creative as well as making all my clients feel wonderful when they walk out the door.

Who or what inspires you to create fabulous hair?  I think social media is a big inspiration for me as there are so many amazing hairdressers who share their successful moments and prove that anything is achievable 

What is your ultimate ambition? My ultimate ambition is to one day run my own successful business and have a strong social media platform for clients to view as well as other hairdressers 

How would you describe yourself in three words? Caring, loyal, driven.

Hello! My name is Lisa and I am a self-employed hairdresser and beautician at Studio 74.  I qualified as a stylist in 1991 and trained as a beauty therapist in 2018.

What do you love about your job?  I love making clients feel amazing whilst being pampered.

Which three products would you want if stranded on a desert island?  Spray tan, gel polish, eyelash and eyebrow tint.

What is your ultimate ambition?  To build up my beauty and spray tanning clientele.

How would you describe yourself in 3 words?  Hard-working, loyal, patient.

Tell us something about you that might surprise others.  I used to play drum/trumpet in a marching band.
